    • Entry fee is $6

    • Format is 6 games, rotating partners

    • Cash prizes for 1st and 2nd in points, loaners and euchres

Mahjongg at the Club

  • Are you dreading the long, cold winter and wondering what you will do to pass the time? Might you be looking to get together with old friends while making new friends? Does learning a new game sound like fun? Perhaps learning to play Mahjongg at ILCC is for you!

  • There is a group of ILCC ladies who play Mahjongg at the club on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and we are looking for others to join us playing the game. Attendance is not required; we simply show up to play when we are available so there is a lot of flexibility for our personal schedules. Mahjongg is a game that originated in China. It is commonly played by four players, although we also enjoy a version that uses three players. Similar to the Western card game rummy, mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and calculation and involves a degree of chance. You can learn more about the game at www.nationalmahjonggleague.org.

  • If this interests you, contact Kathy Paris (jdkparis@sbcglobal.net or 317-450-3490) or anyone from the club who enjoys the game. We will be happy to teach it to you!

Sunday Football Informal Pitch-ins

  • We’ve had a lot of fun football Sundays this year watching our Colts, other games (Packers for Kyle B when they’re on), NFL RedZone and having an informal snack food pitch-in.  Feel free to come out on Sundays, grab a drink, bring a snack, and watch football with some friends.  Football starts at 1pm, so feel free to get there a little early.  The porch has turned into a great spot for Sunday Football

Entertainment Committee Survey - Trunk or Treat

Bowling League Starts January 5th!

  • The ILCC bowling league starts January 5th.  We only have a few spots left and an opportunity for subs, so if you want to bowl, reach out to Steve Donahue ASAP.  mrposter@sbcglobal.net

Your Board Members:

Member Involvement

We are in the off-season and it is time to get some projects accomplished!  If you are interested in helping out, please reach out to Kyle or any member of the board and let us know!  Have a look at the sections below.

Building & Maintenance

The building and maintenance committee is looking for volunteers with some experience in the areas listed below to help with improvement projects this off-season.  These projects will get started after the holidays - but we would like to get a better understanding of our capacity to provide the lion's share of labor in these where it makes sense.

There are 5 “bodies of work” that we would like to accomplish, and are in the process of scoping each of them out.

  • Ladder install

  • HVAC work

  • Electrical work

  • Lighting

  • Tiles and tile work (ceiling)

The HVAC and Electrical will also involve looking at some older equipment and wiring and making decisions on what to do with it, including running new if it makes sense.  Most of this work will happen on ladders above the ceiling and in the attic.

To simplify accessing the attic, and ahead of the above work, we would like to install a ladder in our equipment room that will enable us to reach the attic from inside the building.  The only problem with that is we need to punch a hole in the ceiling and install the ladder!  We have taken a look at this and it should be straight forward.

There are a few other projects in the early stages that we want to provide support for as well and we will send out another message for volunteers when we are ready to proceed.

Audit

If you like numbers, are curious, can learn software quickly - the Audit committee would like to talk to you!  We are looking for someone who can dive into the numbers to join the audit committee.  This person would follow the blueprint developed by Billy Carson and participate in Audit committee functions.  Please reach out to Chris Knox, Billy Carson or Scott Archer and we can explain further.

Pro’s Corner

Greetings All,

Welcome to December!  We are now fully into the holiday season with a number of great winter social events to enjoy.  The Tuesday Morning and Wednesday Evening Golf Leagues have their Christmas parties in the coming week.  We are also only a week or so away from our annual club Christmas party - the “Toast to the Holidays” party.  I hope you can join us on Friday, December 13th for a great event.  It’s always great at the Toast Party to catch up with all your friends you haven’t seen since golf season!

Speaking of golf season, the pro shop is now closed for the winter.  However, I will still be around the club most days so if you need anything, don’t hesitate to hit me with a text, email or phone call.  If we get a few good weather days, I will let you know pro shop hours and if we can get the carts out.

With the frozen turf, Kyle Bosse has taken the flags from the regular greens to the temporary greens.  The good news - the golf course now plays about 350 yards shorter than normal, the greens are massive and the holes are a generous 8” in diameter!  The bad news - the temporary greens only run about 4 on the stimpmeter.

Also, after the holiday season, I plan to set up a net in the Marcy Room so there will be indoor lessons available on a limited basis.  Call or email me for appointments.

I still have a good amount of inventory in the pro shop, so if you are looking for last minute gifts for the golfer in your life, come on over and do some shopping - everything is on sale!

I hope to see you at the club a few more times in 2024!
